18th Century Characters

An interesting group of nine watercolour portraits.

A supplier of horse medicine, a dentist, a chemist, five quack doctors and a fixer of smoaky chimneys.

Using 18th-century newspaper cuttings, I think these album pages were illustrated and inscribed in the early 19th century. I have been unable to find a source for the portraits.

Housed in similar late 19th-century reeded ebonised frames.

Frames. 25cm x 30cm and slightly larger.

All in good condition.
