A rare pair of hand-painted face screens with Norfolk scenes. English mid 19th century.

Locations include Holkham, Cromer, Lower Sheringham, Hunstanton, Thorpland, Barsham, New Walsingham and Castle Acre

Watercolour on card with gilt wood handles.

Condition. Surface dirt, one with the leaf decoration not completed.

A lovely example of the kind of art created by wealthy young ladies using commercially produced blank screens and handles. Almost certainly made in Norfolk perhaps at one of the houses illustrated.
